In the beginning, American Idol was fixed, and the best talent did not always win. Fortunately, these practices did not last for long. They did however last long enough to rob Tamyra Gray of her just deserts. Tamyra, one of the greatest idol contestants to date. Tamyra isn't exactly the most original of singers, which is why Kelly Clarkson comes out higher in my rankings. But she's still the best in my view. Tamyra's failed career comes from her wanting too much creative control over record labels. Record labels are not interested in this type of singer. She was better than Justin, but not great. I have seen all her performances back on Idol, and she is boring......doesn't know how to put emotion in her songs. I hated her version on Somewhere over the Rainbow.....where Kim Locke kills on her version. I don't like the songs she has written either. Her duet with Kelly was my least favorite on Kelly's album!
