His voice may not have the greatest range and is sometimes raspy, but it is usually quite smooth and really quite nice. I prefer him singing gospel songs and the like more than the hip-hop that was on his first album, but he certainly is talented - many consistently good performances - although I do personally feel that Clay should have won season 2. Let's get real May 16, 2005 03:49 PM ET Reviewed by: emach1300 I find it very funny to see Clay fans evaluating Ruben as if they cared. All they want is put him down (what else is new). As a fan I love Ruben and everything about him, but I'm also a realist and to grade him as a 10 on EVERYTHING is stretching it a bit. Of course as a fan I wish he was perfect, but he's not. I have never seen him that way either. There's only one perfect one and he's way above all of us. How can someone who has never been to a Ruben show/concert have the nerve to pass any judgement on it? What you saw on AI and the way they perform now is LIGHT YEARS ahead and that includes Mr. Aiken too. My ranking of Ruben may be biased, but I believed I kept it real. If you can't be honest about voting, don't bother. Ruben voice is melodious and he doesn't need histrionics for us, his fans, to know he can sing. He may not have timed glory notes because ALL his notes are gloriuos in his own sweet, calm and melodious way. Keep up the good work Ruben.
