Sep 17, 2006 09:44 PM ET Reviewed by: erinjackson Paris was, in my opinion, better than a lot of the young contestants on the show (e.g. Diana DeGarmo, Lisa Tucker, Chicken Little, Mikalah Gordon). She had a voice that was so mature for her age, despite the fact that she does talk like Minnie Mouse! I am so glad she does not sing the way she talks or she would not have been so great. I was blown away by her performance of the Billie Holiday song on Rod Stewart week...she should really make an album in the jazz/blues category! She and Mandisa were the best female singers on Season Five! Lisa has more potential, and many of Paris's songs had screetchy parts, and plus she butchured "the way we were", which is one of my favorite movie songs. And i never really knew what she would be best at because she was very good at almost every week's genre. I am not sure what happened since, but she has had an underseving free ride and that is not fair to her or her compitition no matter who her relatives are. Paris may sadly mold herself at this young age into something she will not be happy with. The judges need to point out all her faults so that she can truely learn from this experience. I think in a few years Paris may be someone of force if she is not burned out by this ordeal and the disappointment that is sure to follow. She is the only Idol I feel sorry for.
