I saw her twice in concert and she really lacks stage presence. The first time I saw her was with Clay Aiken. She was blah!! No one should tour with Mr Aiken. They cannot live down the comparisons to Mr Aiken. Recently, I attended a concert and I was wondering who this person was. I like the old Kelly look. Is Kelly trying to be the new Brittany... I also didn't like her performance on the morning show (I believe it was the Today show but the shows are all the same to me) or SNL. Maybe she was tired but I didn't life the performances. I don't know if she is becoming more of herself or becoming what Hollywood seems to want out of their artist. I think she needs to take a good look at some of the outfits she wears and ask herself if that outfit is suitable for all ages to see. In her video "behind these hazel eyes" that one outfit slightly disturbs me. If I had a child I wouldn't want them seeing her in it. Little girls look up to her and want to be like her. I overlooked Kelly's trouble with her voice at the end of the season, but since we are supposed to vote according to the Idol season performances that did play into my scoring. She did lose control of her voice a few times and it cracked. The power was still there. I loved her Natural Woman performance the best. I've decided I liked the Idol Kelly's performances better than her mainstream releases. She sounded more like Kelly than Avril Lavigne and that's why I voted for her, but no one can argue with her success on the radio-she now fits into a niche that they're comfortable with. Her lower register needs refinement, which I believe will come in time. I hear her straining at times on the more "powerful" notes, which sometimes come off as screaming. After American Idol, I believe that she spent a considerable amount of time fighting off damage to her vocal cords, resulting from strain during and immediately following the competition. With continued training, I believe that Kelly will continue to be successful and remedy the flaws I've described. The last year and a half, her performances have gone down hill. There have been several mediocre or average performances I have seen. She always seem to have "problem" performances on various shows. She goes flat frequently, especially in the lower voice stage. When she gets to higher voice, she tends to just yell instead of sing. Her recent songs are too much like other singers now---no individuality---if you didn't know it was her, you would think it was Avril. Her appearance is sometimes terrible---way too much eye makeup, clothes that don't flatter her body style and size. Yelly!
