She was "forgettable" in many ways, never really stood out, never really forged her own niche on the show. I do think she had a nice tone to her voice, but she did not highlight this with the songs she chose (or was given). Jessica appeared awkward on-stage, her crouched stance looked uncomfortable and reflected nervousness. She also had some vocal quirks that distracted (a lisping sound, strange ennunciation & phrasing) She did seem to have a feisty, fun personality, but we did not see much of that. Jessica had a country 'flavor' to her voice, which I feel she should have exploited. It was fairly versatile in singing country, pop, old rock&roll. Her voice was very clear and enjoyable. She was a fairly good performer, but nothing special. She completely fell flat on the likeability factor. I never felt like I got to know who she was or what she was about. I guess a lot of that you could blame on how little airtime she got previous to the competition, but she just didn't seem to have any unique personality traits, and I think that's definitely the biggest reason she got voted off. If I were just listening to her on a cd or the radio that would be ok, but watching her onstage is another story. With time, Jessica could be successful with work in these areas.
