I think she got a bum rap by all the judges etc implying she didn't belong or deserve to be there. She has a terrific voice. I never heard her give a bad performance or an off one---till the night her mic strangely didn't work right----on the finals of all times. Amazing how she was right on target night after night, song after song, never out of tune--till the last night. Oh well, we know about those things. I think she is better than many many existing artists right now. She has a powerful strong voice. She is still young and may need to work a little more and grow a little more in the total control and in style etc. But I thought she was pretty darn good. I saw her on Disney mini concert on TV one night, with her band and she was super. Hoping she gets away from all things AI and 19 and then can make it. Being 16 yrs old and being new to the world and trying to jump into the music business so soon as the Idol could have been harmful to her. If you ask me she doesn't have the likeability to her. Fantasia has a sweetness to her. Diana seemed a bit fake in her sencerity most the time. She had some good vocals and a terrific performance with Don't Cry Out Loud, but I usually didn't care for the tone of her voice when she wasn't glory noting. (I love a good glory note, but a performer has to sound good in the rest of the song, too, and for me, she didn't. She might have been on key, but I didn't like the tone.) Not sure why, but I found something about her to be extremely irritating from the start. I've actually grown to like her more after the show! Unfortunately, she was inconsistent. I think she has lots of potential, but has missed capitalizing on the momentum she had from AI. She has plenty of time to make it, though.
