I prefer Kimberely Locke, but i do like Clay alot. But what are people saying, how he has more power and range then Kelly Clarkson or even Mandisa..? 'Voice Range:' I've never heard him match the range of a Whitney. Never ever sang as high as a Mariah. But good enough range. 'Voice Power:' Never heard him match the power of a Whitney in her prime, but good power. 'Voice Control:' He has great control. 'Emotes with Feeling:' Yes - pretty good. 'Sings with pizzazz, flair, & energy:' Ok - not as great as his fans think but good. 'Own style and originality:' Yeah somewhat. 'Stage Presence:' For the most part yeah, but not a totally. 'Appeal, charm, or charisma:' Yeah. 'Physically Attractive:' No, the guy looks ordinary. 'Most outstanding performances:' I give him a solid 9. Clay is probably one of the best of all time. Clay got ripped off because producers NEEDED Ruben to win. Not taking away from Ruben, because I loved him, but Clay was the clear winner. He then proved it with a triple platinum album and another platinum Christmas album and being ranked 16 in the top grossing tours for 2005. There has never been anyone who can captivate a crowd like Clay can and, in my opinion, never will be again. Clay's CD Measure of a Man was the first CD I bought in 15 years. Clay is the real deal, a born showman. He has extreme vocal talent, the likes of which is rare in pop music. He is not "just" a singer, he has incredible comic timing, is great at controlling an audience, gives one of the most fun live shows I have ever attended and just cannot be outsung, plus he is enormously fun to look at. There are many good singers, but he is the best by far. Clay took the competition seriously. He did his work and it showed on every show. Clay used his intelligence when it came to the competition. I would get goosebumps each time he sang. When his songs were over, I would pout until the next week, when I got to hear him sing again. I think they have found only one 'natural born Super Star'. The voice that Clay Aiken has and the charisma that he shows on stage is something they probably will never find again. There have been some decent singers from the show, and they have got another 'star' in Kelly Clarkson. The biggest difference I have seen, after seeing them both in concert several times, Kelly sounds great on recordings, did not enjoy her 'live' performances at all. Clay sounds great on recordings, his 'live' performances will totally take your breath away. The voice is truly amazing! And his charisma and charm on stage have the audience totally wrapped around his finger throughout his show. He has more stage presence than many seasoned professionals have. This is coming from a person whose general music taste is more on the alternative rock/heavy metal side. My favorite bands have always been the likes of Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Guns and Roses, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers...you get the picture. And then I heard this voice on American Idol and my life has not been the same. He is the only one I travel around the country to see in concert and buy anything and everything with his picture. I truly adore this man and will follow his career until the end. I still like my rock bands but I am content with seeing them one time in concert and just buying their cds.
